Projects are Fun!

The big thing I’ve discovered this year of blogging is that I love taking part in readalongs and watchalongs with just one or two people. I’ve been involved in a couple of wider group readalongs this year, am looking forward to being able to take part in Amy’s film group soon and I really like spending time with the ‘Slaves of Golconda’ group when I have time. Still, what I like doing the absolute best is spending time with one, or two people as we indulge in the same media together. It’s nice to hang out with people in a really direct way. To everyone who I have already collared into a joint project, I am having such a good time with you all *beams*. Thanks for agreeing to chat with me like this.

This leads me to a question. If you’re not already involved in a readalong/watchalong with me, would you like to do one sometime this year? I’ve been such a disconnected blogger so far this year, so maybe no one will want to, but if you’re still reading it would be nice to get to know people who visit this site a bit more.

So...if you’d like to watch, or read, or even listen to something with me then please drop me a message in the comments and include some way for me to get in touch with you. We can discuss ‘terms’ (what piece of media you fancy sharing and when, whether we’ll end up making a post about it, or whether you’d just prefer to chat) over e-mail.

I love projects, but I'm obviously not very good at the writing about them part. So once I've finished those projects still waiting for my input, I'm most definitely up for another, although I could understand if by then you'd no longer want to work with me.

Oh hi Iris, that Jonathan Strange post I was going to write...why yes, that is on it's way :P I have unfinished projects sitting around waiting for me to get to the writing up bit as well, like the JS post for your readalong (and poor Renay - she is waiting so patiently for her Graceling review). What I like a lot about doing projects via e-mail is that maybe there's less pressure to 'get it perfect' than if you create docs - you can just spill all the feelings everywhere with no regard for sentence stuctures and then decide if it will/what will make a good post later. Does that make sense?

Also having no projects in progress is kind of like having a personal library with no unread books in it. Sure you love those books you've read all the way through, but there's something so exciting about books/projects in progress and 'unread' as yet.

And yay I want to work with you again for sure :D Suggest away, even if you haven't finished up other projects.

As you well know, I can be something of an anti-social blogger, but I loved reading and blogging about that one really weird book we picked out a while back. Want to do something like that again? Non-necromancer

Yay I'm so excited to have possibly two readalongs with you this year :) And I put so many quotes from 'Reading...' into my commonplace book the other day - political books are amazing.
