So, What's New With You?
Got time for a quick catch up?
Five things I did this week
Got ma first pay cheque after my totally surprise pay rise!
Exercised four out of five weekdays. This was a little much for me really, not physically but based on interest levels. I didn’t swim this week, instead choosing to walk or do a work out routine and I could definitely feel myself getting bored during the work outs. Exercise also fills a lot of the small gaps like lunch time and before work where I’d have been reading or writing and I found myself craving more unallocated time to myself. I expect my rate to settle at three exercise sessions (walks or work outs) and one swim a week (because swimming is never dull). If I keep that up I’ll be pretty happy.
Found out that peanut butter Kitkats have returned to England. That was the best day!
Finished ‘I’ll Get There. It Better Be Worth the Trip’ by John Donavan, for the 1970s LGBTQ readalong I’m doing with Cass and a few others this year. I thought it was great and hope to write more soon.
Saw ‘Les Mis’ at the cinema, on which more on later. Possibly a lot more…
Five things I wanted to do this week that are now going to happen next week
E-mails – Next week is e-mail replying week. If you are waiting on an e-mail from me I’m sorry I’ve been holding off, but next week I will attack the inbox. We will speak! I want to speak to you all : )
Finish review of ‘Un Lun Dun’. I’ve written half of it and it was surprisingly easy. I feel mostly better about writing this year, although getting started is still hard even when I have lots of ideas to get down – why?
Write about ‘Fair Play’ by Tove Jansson. It was lovely. I want to read all her adult novels now.
Write about ‘I’ll Get There…’. This post is going to be late because the book took quite a while to arrive. Hmm, a lot of the things that got put off until next week are about writing aren’t they?
Make some letters and drop them, as I’ve signed up to be part of ‘The World Needs More Love Letters’. Time to get crafty-creative I think, which I have missed.
Five near future things I am excited about
Going to a spa and hotel for the hen do I organised. I just want to drink and eat and look at the countryside all weekend.
Nominations for rarewomen opening! I have to narrow down my list for noms and then cross my fingers someone loves those female characters as much as I do.
Sign ups for paperlegends opening. Yes, I have signed up to a mega fanfic challenge and this will be the first time I’ve tried to write fiction in a year :O But it just all of a sudden felt right. It’s the last year of the challenge and this was the last series of ‘Merlin’, so…y’know? I’d regret it if I didn’t even try.
Having a day off tomorrow : )
A possible chance to see ‘Othello’ on stage this year. I really, really, really want to go and am hoping the ticket fates co-operate.
What cool things have you been up to and what are you excited about that's coming up soon? I so wish we could all get together for tea and a chat.

I also love Tove Janssen and would quite like to read everything she's written. That woman had one hell of a great perspective. Also, going to a spa sounds perfect for the dog end of winter. Hope you have a fantastic time!

And 'Fair Play' was excellent. If you haven't read that one yet I recommend it.

Good luck in your quest to find those fish crackers btw. We used to have something similar but seems they've been discontinued.
